King Zephyr Tenor Sax
#242xxx from 1940
Original lacquer finish is in great shape, its aged the way Zephyr's do and has a nice darkened patina.
Neck is original with matching serial number.
This horn was just overhauled by a pro. By that I mean that he has done repeat overhauls for some of the best players in the world.

several Berklee faculty and others in his limited clientele.
He likes to use brass resos with these horns and he's done several Zephyrs. He loves them and the work shows it.
The horn plays superbly with an extremely elegant and smooth response.

Of course its similar to the Super 20's of the same era and in this condition they would run about double my price.

The horn has been well cared for, dent and damage free.
The Zephyr case has a mild odor. Maybe 2 out of 10. Since the horn went in for its overhaul earlier this month, the case has been treated with enzyme spray and aired out so its better but mildly evident. I can ship is an older hardshell rectangular Pro-tec if you prefer.

A wonderful horn, very well preserved, professionally setup in Sept 2019 and ready for use. If you love the American songbook and that type of playing its warmth and easy response should be quite pleasing.
