1930 Selmer Soprano Sax
1930 Selmer Soprano Sax
Here is a rare early Selmer soprano in original silverplate.
The 129xx serial number dates it to 1930, after which they only made a total of 10 sopranos until 1945 when they went back into more regular production
The early ones vary and tone hole placement was changed with improved intonation as a result. This is one of those.
PM Woodwind has a similar one but the older design they are selling for $4995 by way of comparison. This is a better horn from the Large Bore Era and after the Modele 26.
This horn was overhauled recently with music medic pads and brass resos.
It plays more like a vintage horn by Buescher or Conn than it does a Mark VI.
Great condition, pretty amazing for a 90 year old horn.
New case as shown.
