Martin Bb Soprano

$0.00

Here is a 60xxx 1925 Martin Bb soprano sax in original silver plate.
Low Pitch and keyed to high F.
The silver plate is in very good shape as you can see.
The pads are older but not ancient rivets and it plays top to bottom but could play considerably better with better pads and a better setup.
It has some unusual left hand modifications. These were apparently done by its former owner, the noted mouthpiece maker Charles Bay, this was one of his horns. The work is as practical as it is inelegant , it is more ergonomic and comfortable than the original. I'll leave it to the next owner to do with as they like, it can all easily be removed if you wish. It is an excellent candidate for some work and to be employed as a pro quality horn.

Martins don't get mentioned as much as vintage Conns and Bueschers but I really don't know why as they are at least as good a soprano and maybe better for a lot of players.

This one comes in a generic gig bag
